HOTEL INDUSTRY PROS

I have found that some of the third party websites tell you they are giving you a 25% net rate when actually they are giving you a 33%! (it's all a matter of numerator and denominator). Our poor sales forces take people at their word and than they get taken. One of the big tricks had to do with offering specials on the third party sites (like stay 4 nighs pay 3 or etc). If your a mathematics person you calculate that they do this to raise their rates!! So in analyzing each channel as to what it costs the accounting department must be involved and don't trust what they tell you! Sad but true! Some of these channels should be the first ones closed when you demand is picking up ahead of PACE.
