Answer: IHG (InterContinental Hotels Group) Is the worlds largest and most global hotel chain. IHG's brands include: InterContinental Hotels, Crowne Plaza, Hotel Indigo, Holiday Inn, Holiday Inn Express, Staybridge Suites, and Candlewood Suites.

As of March 2009 they had over 4,200 hotels in their portfolio representing over 621,000 Rooms.

Best Western uses the tag line "The Worlds Largest Hotel Chain"; however with a portfolio of just under 4,000 hotels representing 303,000 rooms. They come in number 7 behind IHG, Wyndham, Marriott, Hilton, Accor, and Choice Hotels.

In a global study released by Marriott at the World Economic Forum, it was revealed that international travel is considered even more important than the Internet, TV/movies, or political diplomacy at stimulating the economy and breaking down cultural barriers.
